APHC condemns continued house arrest of Syed Ali Gilani

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of its Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the puppet authorities prevented Syed Ali Gilani from offering Juma prayers even on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
He said, the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, has so far adopted the same policies against the APHC Chairman which Omar Abdullah had followed and he continues to remain under house detention without any legal or constitutional justification. He pointed out that Mehbooba Mufti was very vocal about this when she was in the opposition. “She would often criticize Omar Abdullah for caging Syed Ali Gilani, however now she is following the footsteps of her predecessors,” he added.
The spokesman said, the puppet administration is in fact scared of the octogenarian leader and this is the reason it has restricted all his political and religious activities. He appealed to the international community to take serious note of the illegal house detention of the APHC Chairman.
Meanwhile, the spokesman demanded immediate and unconditional release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails. He deplored that the puppet regime had turned the entire occupied Kashmir into a big jail and the Indian troops and police personnel have intensified siege and search operations in every nook and corner of the territory, subjecting the people to severe hardships.
The spokesman said that the Kashmiri detainees were not allowed meetings with their families and were deprived of basic amenities like hygienic food and medical treatment. He urged the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners and use their influence for their release.
