QUETTA, (APP): Young Doctors Association Balochistan and All Pakistan Paramedics Federation Balochistan have announced ending their strike after reaching a consensus with the provincial government that their legitimate demands were accepted.
Provincial Health Minister, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch reached the protesting camp of doctors and paramedics set up outside the Quetta Press Club and told them that the provincial government had accepted the legitimate demands of the doctors and paramedics. “Chief Minister Balochistan has issued a directive to fulfill all legitimate demands of the young doctors and paramedics,” he said.
He said that the incumbent coalition government of Balochistan had paid special heed towards health department adding that remarkable improvements were made in this sector to provide facilities to doctors, paramedics and patients. He said the government wanted to see young doctors and paramedics to be present at their workplace to serve patients. He assured them that their all legitimate demands would be fulfilled.
Responding to him, President, YDA Balochistan, Dr. Hafiz Mandokhel and President, APPF Balochistan, Fazl Kakar announced ending their strike which was underway for over two and half month. They said: “We announce ending our strike and sit-in staged to pressurize our demands for provision of service structure, special health allowance, risk allowance, necessary machinery and medicines at the hospitals,” they said.
They said that now young doctors and paramedics would provide their services at out-patient department, emergency and wards. They said that after the ending of strike and sit-in, absence of doctors and paramedics from workplace would not be supported.
