BISP resurvey to start in two district this month

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8 (APP): Benazir Income Support Programme
(BISP) would launch poverty resurvey in two more districts of Sukkar
Nasirabad during the current month to get fresh and updated data
of deserving persons.
Official sources told APP that pilot phase of resurvey,
started in June this year under which 16 districts, would be
completed till March 2017.
Currently the survey is going on in Harripur and Bahawalpur
and the data is registered under this phase through two approaches
including desk approach registration and door to door.
They informed that the pilot phase of resurvey includes 16
districts across the country. Desk Approach will be employed in four
districts while in 12 districts, Door to Door Approach will be
utilized.
They said 12 districts of Door to Door survey in pilot phase
include Jacobabad, Thatha, Mohmand Agency, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad,
Layyah, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Kech, Qila Saifullah, Lakki Marwat and
Charsadda.
Door to Door survey in these 12 districts will start in mid
October and it will be completed by the end of February 2017.
National roll out of resurvey will be followed by the Pilot phase.
To make the new poverty survey fool proof and to overcome the
inclusion and exclusion errors, BISP has adopted CAPI (Computer
Assisted Personal Interviews) instead of PAPI (Paper Assisted
Personal Interviews).
Poverty Scorecard has been revised for the resurvey and for
verification of the authenticity of the survey done by the Targeting
Firms, Operation Review Firms are being procured through a
competitive and transparent process.
