Capital punishment awarded in murder case

SARGODHA, Oct 26 (APP): Additional District and Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Ranjha on Wednesday awarded capital punishment to an accused involved in a murder case of Jhaverian police station. According to prosecution, two brothers Sohail and Waqar along with their friend Mehboob had gunned down sub-engineer local government Amir Taimoor over litigation on September 30, 2013. After hearing arguments and observing witnesses, the court awarded death penalty to Sohail along with a fine of Rs 500,000. The court acquitted co-accused Mehboob while giving him benefit of the doubt while Waqar has been declared proclaimed offender by the court.
