Census-2017 in AJK to commence from April this year

MIRPUR (AJK), Feb 02 (APP): To ascertain the current number of population of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, census-2017 will commence in the State from April this year.
Azad government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir has decided to commence the Census-2017 throughout AJK including in all three districts of Mirpur division, Commissioner Census AJK Raja Tariq Mahmood said.
Talking to journalists at the local press club late Wednesday, he said that the decision to this effect was taken in a high level meeting of the AJK government chaired by the AJK Chief Secretary Sikander Sultan Raja.
Commissioner Census AJK Raja Tariq Mahmood said that a total of 2800 mobile staff members would be deputed for holding the scheduled census across AJK.
Five-day training to the staff was being conducted by the master trainers in Muzaffarabad.
He said that a liaison officer of the Census Department of Pakistan will be deputed in each district of Azad Jammu Kashmir to supervise the process.
