Certified Data Center established at University of Lahore

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): University of Lahore (UOL) has set-up a
certified Tier-III Data Center and added innovation and technology
to its already well-established educational infrastructure.
This new Data Centre is capable of hosting not only Virtual
Desktop Infrastructure for labs of 11 diverse faculties and 32
departments, private cloud for UOL’s over 30,000 students in more
than 190 full time degree programmes and 4,000 faculty members.
According to the University officials, the Centre has also
SAP Student Life Cycle & Campus Management facilities.
The university also aspires to offer these services to
various other academic institutions and commercial organization in
near future.
The University selected Schneider Electric as technology
partner and TechAccess Pakistan as a integrator to successfully
execute this project in collaboration with Building Technologies.
In his comments on the new development, Chairman UOL,
Awais Rauf stressed the need of providing exposure to students to
technologies being deployed around the world.
He shared his vision of how universities should change their
outlook towards delivery of education and services.
