CJP dismisses Nawaz’s in-chamber appeal to club NAB references
ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday dismissed in-chamber the appeal of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for merging of three references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him.
The former prime minister had approached the Supreme Court on October 13, through his counsel Advocate Khawaja Haris seeking merging of the three references. However, the registrar had rejected the petition, asking the petitioner to approach the relevant forum.
During the course of hearing, the CJP maintained the objections raised by the registrar office. He remarked that the option to review verdict had already been provided to the Sharif family in the Panama Papers case.
