Cleric, wife shot injured in Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD, (MILLAT/APP): A cleric along with his wife sustained
injuries when unknown persons, ridding a car, opened fire on them at Rawani Bridge on Muzaffarbad-Choukoti road on Wednesday, Police said.
Deputy Inspector Police, Sardar Gulfraz told media persons that Alama
Taswar Jawadi along with his wife riding a motorbike was on way from Muzaffarabad to Gari- Dopata when unknown persons riding a car intercepted them at Rawani beidge, some 20 kilometers from here, and opened indiscriminate fire on them.
Both suffered wounds and were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition.
Hospital sources said, the cleric received eight bullets in his body.
Jawadi was working as Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahadat-ul-Muslimeen.
Soon after the incident, hundreds of protesters gathered at Alamdar Chowk in the middle of the city and staged protest, blocking the road which caused traffic jams for hours.
