ABBOTTABAD, Oct 20 (APP): Regional Chief Commissioner Income Tax Abbottabad, Muhammad Aslam has directed all the officers of field formations to start special mass awareness campaign about importance of submission of annual returns and vowed to take strict action against non filers. He passed these directives while presiding over a high level meeting of Income Tax Officers of Hazara division here at regional income tax office Thursday. The Chief Commissioner announced establishment of special desk at regional income tax offices Abbottabad, tax centres Haripur and Mansehra where senior officers and staff would provide information to people and taxpayers about tax returns. He said that those taxpayers who obtained tax numbers and could not submitted tax returns in previous years could be reached out and asked to submit tax returns. The leaders of business community and traders’ unions, lawyers and media persons can play a key role in success of mass awareness campaign, he said. The Chief Commissioner directed setting up of special teams that would visit door to door for checking of the assets returns besides imposing fine and blocking of NTN of the non filers.
