Complete strike in IHK against civilian killings

ISLAMABAD, (APP): A complete shutdown was observed Srinagar,
Handwara and Kupwara, Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) on Saturday against the
killing of five civilians including a woman in the unprovoked firing of
Indian troops on peaceful protesters in Kupwara district, Indian Occupied Kashmir during this week.
Call for the shutdown has been given by Chairman of All Parties
Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The authorities continued to impose curfew and other restrictions in
Srinagar, Handwara and Kupwara, IHK to prevent people from staging protests
against the killings. All roads leading to Kupwara and Handwara have been
sealed.
Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have put all Hurriyet leaders under
house arrest or behind the bars to prevent them from visiting the families of the martyrs and expressing solidarity with them.
The authorities also continue to suspend the mobile Internet service to
stop people from sharing information about the situation in the territory.
Two youth and an aged woman were killed when the troops opened
indiscriminate fire on the people who were protesting against the molestation of a girl by the troops in Handwara area of the district on Tuesday.
On more youth was shot dead by the troops on Wednesday by firing upon a
demonstration at Drugmulla in the district. An 11th class student, Arif Ahmed Dar, was martyred and three other youth were injured in the unprovoked firing of the soldiers on peaceful protests in Nutnusa area of Kupwara, Friday.
