CPEC catalyst for economy development: Abid Suleri

FAISALABAD, March 25 (APP): Sustainable Development Policy Institute Executive Director Abid Qaiyum Suleri on Friday termed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as catalyst for economy development that would prove as game changer and proving to be a major attraction for investors.
He was addressing special lecture on CPEC at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad as the chief guest. The session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and was organized by Institute of Business Management Sciences.
Abid Qaiyum Suleri said that CPEC and “One- Belt, One Road” initiatives would foster economic development and inter-linked regions all around the world.
He said that CPEC would reduce unemployment in the country. He said that the functioning of Gawadar port would bring an economic development and business activities would boost.
He said that Pakistan saw the CPEC project as a game changer that would open up new an era of infrastructure growth and investment.
He said that CPEC revolved around the Energy Cooperation; Infrastructure development; Gawadar Port and Industrial Cooperation.
He said that that the country was having the talented people, adding, “If we refurbish the skills of the people, we can multiply the benefit of the CPEC.”
Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said China and Pakistan were enjoying deepened and time-tested relations that were more strengthened with CPEC.
He said that the country would witness an economic turnaround that would help ensure sustainable development and prosperity in the country.
