CRPP condemns killing spree in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Delhi-based Committee for Release
of Political Prisoners (CRPP) has condemned the ongoing killing
spree in Indian held kashmir(IHK) and demanded a probe into the encounter
in which Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani, and his two
associates were killed.
The CRPP members, Syed Abdur Rehman Gilani, Amit
Bhattacharyya, Sujato Bhadra, MN Ravunni, Jagmohan Singh, Sukhendu
Bhattacharjee, Malem Hany Babu and Rona Wilson in a statement
issued in New Delhi said that once again occupied Kashmir was
witnessing unprecedented upsurge of its people, Kashmir Media
Service (KMS) reported.
“People are protesting against the covert killing of 22-
year-old Burhan Wani.
After seven days of the incident angry mob torched the
house where Burhan Wani was located and killed. It seems the so-
called encounter of Wani is fake.
He was caught, tortured and killed. Even the senior-most
leader of the ruling PDP Muzaffar Beig has expressed his doubts
over the story of encounter floated by the state agencies,” they
said.
The CRPP members condemned the use of force against the
protesters. “One is left speechless with the sight of the growing
number of injured youth men and women as well as the very young
and the aged being admitted to various hospitals with fatal eye
injuries and bullet injuries above the chest,” they added.
They demanded of the Indian government and the puppet
administration of the occupied territory to stop killing
protesters and direct the forces’ personnel to express restraint.
