SARGODHA, June 3 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Liaqat
Ali Chatha has issued show-cause notice to an XEN of the Buildings
Department.
Chairing a meeting called to review development works, he
constituted a sub-committee comprising Deputy Director Planning and
Deputy Director Technical for monitoring quality of construction
work on all ongoing schemes. The committee will submit its report to
his office on regular basis.
He said that a total of 1,317 development schemes worth
Rs 6.53 billion were under construction in the district. Under
phase 1 of the PMSDGs, a total of 578 schemes including 51 schemes
of public health, 321 of local government, 203 of electricity,
two highways and one scheme of Buildings Department were under way
on which one billion rupees were being spent.
In Phase 2, a total of 215 schemes were under construction on
which Rs 500 million were being spent.
The meeting was told that under the Chief Minister Punjab special
development package 2016-17, Rs 290 million were being spent on
133 schemes and Rs 130 million had been allocated for 12 schemes under
the city package for tehsil Sillanwali, Shahpur and Sahiwal.
He said that Rs 3.330 million were being spent on the construction
of 328-kilometre roads in the areas after recommendation of the parliamentarians.
