Detention, house arrest of Gilani, Mirwaiz, Malik denounced

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Mirwaiz-led Hurriyet forum has
denounced the continued detention of joint resistance leadership
comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin
Malik, terming the action as acceptance of political defeat by the
puppet authorities.
According to KMS, the Hurriyet forum in a statement issued in Srinagar
said that as per the programme issued by the joint resistance
leadership, peaceful protest marches were to be staged from
Hyderpora, Nigeen and Maisuma, but the programme was sabotaged
through enforcement of restrictions in these areas.
“Mirwaiz who had to march from his Nigeen residence to Lal
Chowk continued to remain under house arrest while all roads
leading to his residence were sealed and addition personnel of
forces were deployed outside his residence by the authorities to
prevent him from marching towards Lal Chowk,” the statement added.
It denounced the continued house arrest of Syed Ali Gilani
and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and detention of Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Meanwhile, as per the unified resistance leadership’s
programme, Hurriyet activists staged a peaceful march at Naqshband
Sahab in Srinagar. Indian police used brute force to foil the
march.
