Digital Youth Summit-2017 from next month

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): The third edition of Digital Youth
Summit-2017 would take place from next month and aimed at
educating general public, youth in particular, about tech
entrepreneurship and digital employment as potential alternatives
to traditional jobs.
The Summit, to be organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)
Information Technology Board and World Bank in Peshawar from May 5
to 7, features three-day of panel discussions, networking, and a
startup pitch competition with cash prizes of up to US$ 5,000 for
winning team.
Since its inception in 2014, the Digital Youth Summit has
become on premier tech conferences in Pakistan.
According to organizers here on Tuesday, the Summit also aims
at bringing together “the next generation of digital entrepreneurs”
and typically attracts two key audiences: the `who’s who of the tech
industry in Pakistan and abroad, and young tech entrepreneurs with
fledgling startups.
Speakers for this year include Nadeem Hussain (founder Planet
N), Atif Azim (Co-founder Venture Dive), Syed Ismail Shah (Chairman
PTA), and Haroon Rashid (singer and co-founder Taazi).
International delegates like Dilawar Syed (President,
Freshdesk), Iliana Montauk, Max Krueger, Katharine Budd, and Samuel
Bretzfield.
The main hall will feature ongoing panel discussions and
keynote speeches. Additionally there would also be workshops and
side sessions for practical training in areas like digital
marketing, security and privacy, growth hacking, and design
thinking.
The conference will also host a start-up pitch competition
where ten young companies from across Pakistan will have five
minutes each to present their solution in front of a panel of
judges. The panel consists of Khurram Zafar, Nadeem Hussain, Rabeel
Warraich, and Atif Azim.
The companies will be ranked on the basis of existing
traction, size of market opportunity, and strength of founding team.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with
leading and emerging innovators, entrepreneurs, freelancers, start-
up community leaders, investors and other stakeholders.
