Draws held for brick lining of 27 watercourses

FAISALABAD, Oct 20 (APP): The project of brick lining of 27 watercourses in the district is being launched soon under second phase of Kissan welfare policy of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. In this connection, draws on applications received by farmers were held at the office of DCO Salman Ghani here Thursday where EDO Agriculture Ch Abdul Hameed, DO water management Dr Muhammad Asif and the applicants were also present. According to the draws results, 10 applications in Saddar tehsil, seven in Jarranwla, five in Samundri, one in Tandlianwala and four in Chak Jhumra tehsil were declared successful for brick lining the watercourses. EDO Agriculture said total 74 applications were received for additional brick lining of watercourses from five tehsils of the district out of which 40 application were received from Saddar tehsil, 18 from Jarranwala, 10 from Samundri, two from Tandlianwala and four from Chak Jhumra tehsil. He said construction material would be purchased by the farmers and the Punjab government would pay its cost to them while only labour charges would be borne by farmers.
