ECP seeks written reply of Caption Safdar till August 9

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Election Commission of
Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday sought a written reply from Member of
National Assembly (MNA) Captain (r) Mohammad Safdar till August 9,
for concealing assets of his wife, in his nomination papers.
A five member bench of the ECP, headed by Chief Election
Commissioner Justice Retired Sardar Ahmed Raza Khan conducted the
proceedings of plea filed by Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf Nawabzada
Salahuddin for disqualification of Capt. Safdar.
During the course hearing, Counsel for Pakistan Tehreek-e-
Insaf apprised the bench that Capt (r) Safdar had not mentioned in
his nomination papers the ownership of foreign properties of his
wife.
He prayed the ECP’s bench to disqualify Cap (r) Safdar from
seat of National Assembly.
Capt (r) Safdar counsel Senator Nehal Hashmi, argued that this
petition cannot be heard as all allegations leveled on his client
are fake. He asked the bench to dismiss plea on non production of
evidences.
