Ex-ETPB secretary remanded in NAB custody

LAHORE, (MILLAT ONLINE):An accountability court on Tuesday
handed over Ameer Khan Wazir, former secretary of Evacuee
Trust Property Board (ETPB), to National Accountability Bureau
(NAB) on 10 days physical remand in a Rs 985.5 million
illegal investment case.
Earlier, the NAB officials produced the accused before
Accountability Court Judge-I Imtiaz Hussain and sought
physical remand of the accused for investigations.
At this, the court handed over the accused to NAB
authorities on 10-day physical remand and ordered for
his production on the expiry of the remand term.
NAB Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal had issued the
arrest warrants of the accused. The accused had residences in
South Waziristan and Islamabad, but he was hiding in Lahore.
The accused Ameer Khan served as secretary ETPB from
2008 to 2011. He made a Rs 985.5 million illegal investment
with M/s high links during his tenure.
NAB had already filed references in accountability court
against other accused in the case.
