Families of 3 disappeared Kupwara men facing harassment

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): Families of the three persons
subjected to custodial disappearance by Indian police and troops
in Kupwara district of Indian occupied Kashmir have said that
Indian forces’ personnel are threatening and harassing them.
The three persons namely Ghulam Jeelani Khatana, Mir Hussain
Khatana and Ali Mohammad Sheikh, were subjected to enforced
disappearance in November 2015, reported Kashmir Media Service.
The family members of the victims addressed a press
conference in Srinagar organized be the Association of Parents of
Disappeared Persons (APDP).
The families on the occasion said that Indian Army and its
agents were threatening them to force them to withdraw the case in
the High Court of the occupied territory. One of the threats
includes that if the families continue with the case, Ghulam
Jeelani would be killed, they said.
The relatives of Jeelani said that the other night the army
searched Ghulam Jeelani Khatana’s house for recovering arms and
ammunition.
“The family lives under constant state of fear. The family
of Ghulam Jeelani has also received threatening phone calls from
unknown phone number,” they said.
