Fazal condemns US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital
ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE:Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman Friday strongly condemned US president Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to take stance against this sort of verdict, said a statement issued here.
JUI-F has asked across the country Imams of mosques to highlight the issue during Friday sermons and prayed for the safety and independence of Palestinians.
The religious scholars should disseminate the importance of Jerusalem as Al- Aqsa Mosque was the first ideological place of Muslims. “We should be united on such issues and no compromise would be made on faith,” he added.
Fazal said that protest should be continued until US immediately takes back the controversial decision. This is clear violation of international law as well as international norms, a new reality that the Muslim Ummah is not willing to accept Jerusalem as an Israel’s capital.
“We are against the illegal occupation of the old city Jerusalem, with voicing concern over the risk of more violence,” he added.
