FIA apprehends 1115 human traffickers in three months

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Federally Investigation Agency (FIA)
has apprehended 1115 suspects during last three months under its
ongoing drive against human smugglers and traffickers.
The drive had been launched as per direction of Minister for
Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and so far FIA arrested
321 proclaimed offenders, 17 most wanted suspects, 89 absconders
and 688 other criminals.
The Agency had conducted raids in different parts of the
country on offices of travelling agents and visa consultancies,
arrested traffickers and confiscated a number of passports.
As per data, with the aim to tighten noose on such criminals,
75 percent work on developing a database to keep record of rogue
elements had been completed. So far data of 2196 criminals had been
updated.
Moreover, the Agency had written formally to NADRA to
block 640 CNICs of criminals. Moreover, after blocking their CNICs,
PTA and State Bank would block SIMs and bank accounts, respectively.
