Five hydel power projects completed in last four years
ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):As many as five hydel power projects having accumulative capacity of 282.7MW have been completed during tenure of the incumbent government.
Officials sources told APP here, the projects which were completed included Duber Khwar Hydropower Project, Jinnah Hydropower Project, Gomal Zam Dam, Satpara Dam and Jabban Hydropower Project.
They said Dubar Khwar (130MW) has been completed in January in 2014, Jinnah hydropower (96MW) in September 2013, Gomal Zam Dam (17.4 MW) in June 2013, Satpara Dam (17.3MW) in 2013 and Jabban hydropower (22 MW) in December 2013.
Similarly, some 23 renewable energy (RE) based projects have also been completed during the said period.
These projects were supplying 1300MW to the national grid stations, they said.
Giving the details of these projects, they said that the projects included Zorlu Enerji Pakistan Ltd, Three Gorges First Wind Farm Pakistan, Foundation Wind Energy-II Ltd, Foundation Wind Energy-I Ltd, Sapphire Wind Power Company, Yunus Energy Ltd, Metro Power Company Ltd, Tapal Wind Energy Ltd, Tenaga Generasi Ltd, Master Wind Energy Ltd, Gul Wind Energy, Hydro China Dawood Power, Sachal Energy Development Ltd, United Energy Pakistan Ltd, Quaid-e-Azam Solar Ltd, Appolo Solar Pakistan Ltd, Crets Energy Pakistan Ltd, Best Green Energy Ltd, Chiniot Power Ltd and Hamza Sugar Mill Ltd etc.
These projects were mainly based on wind, solar and bagasses energy, the source said.
