FAISALABAD, (MILLAT+APP): The police department has made tight security arrangements by deputing more than 500 security personnels and ensuring continuous patrolling in sensitive areas during polling of local bodies (LB) elections here Thursday.
Police spokesman said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established polling booths at various cites of the district for election of one city mayor and 3 deputy mayors as well as one chairman of district council and 3 vice chairmen.
The police has deputed more than 500 personnel including 5 Superintendents Police (SPs), 13 Deputy Superintendents Police (DSPs), 15 Inspectors, 29 Sub Inspectors (SIs), 34 Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) and 440 constables in Faisalabad to ensure security during the polling process.
The police officials reached at their duty points before commencement of polling process whereas special police teams coupled with elite force have also started continuous patrolling in sensitive areas to avert any untoward incident before its occurrence, police spokesman added.
