ISLAMABAD, (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Information
and Broadcasting Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha said that the
government was committed to safeguard the rights of the women and
effective measures were also being taken in this regard.
Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), he said legislation
was being done to protect the rights of women. Women Protection Bill
was passed recently in Punjab Assembly for the purpose, he said.
Mohsin said all concerned departments were taking steps to
implement women laws which would empower the women in the society.
He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had instructed to
ensure provision of equal rights to the women and steps for their
uplift.
