LAHORE, Nov 6 (APP): General Secretary Bonded Labor
Liberation Front (BLLF) Syeda Ghulam Fatima has lauded the
Punjab government efforts for elimination of bonded
labor at brick-kilns.
In a statement here on Sunday, she said after 18th
Amendment, provinces have the power to formulate policies and
legislate for the betterment of labour community.
She said the Punjab Assembly had approved Prohibition of
Employment of Children at Brick-Kilns Ordinance 2016, which
will restrain brick-kiln owners from trapping laborers to get huge
advances.
The general secretary expressed confidence that
implementation of law in letter and spirit would resolve
the issues of workers of this very important industry.
