PESHAWAR, (APP): The administration of Town-I here Thursday launched a grand operation against encroachment at Sethi Town by bulldozing several illegal structures in the area.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Nazim Town-I Zahid Nadeem at different areas of Sethi Town where illegal structures and shades around houses and shops were removed. Senior officials of Town-I administration and police were present on the occasion. Goods placed outside of the shops on footpaths were also seized.
Zahid said Town-I would be made a role-model town of Peshawar and would be made free of encroachment, saying a policy of zero tolerance against encroachment was adopted and no leniency would be shown to officials found guilty of negligence from duties.
He urged traders to place goods inside their shops and avoid encroachment as it hampers smooth flow of traffic besides creating a lot of problems for pedestrians.
