Hanging of Bangladesh’s JI leader mourned in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Thousands of people offered funeral prayers in
absentia across the Valley for Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader, Motiur
Rehman Nizami, who was executed by Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh.
Socio-religious and Hurriyet organizations organized funeral prayers
for the executed leader all across the Valley,reported KMS.
Hundreds of people assembled in Saraiballa near Iqra Masjid, Old
Barzullah, Amira Kadal, Lal Chowk and Maisuma areas of Srinagar and offered
funeral prayers in absentia for the leader. The funeral prayers organized
outside Masjid Hamzah (RA) in Amira Kadal were led by Tehreek-e-Hurriyet
leader, Merajuddin Kalwal.
The funerals were also held in Baramulla, Sopore, Kupwara, Ganderbal,
Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts.
Nizami, 73, was hanged after he refused to seek presidential clemency.
He was the fourth leader of the Jamaat to have been executed since Prime
Minister, Sheikh Hasina, came to power.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, in a
statement appealed to the people to organize special prayers and funeral
prayers in absentia after Friday prayers, tomorrow.
The illegally detained Chairman of Muslim Deeni Mahaz, Dr Muhammad Qasim
Fakhtoo, in his statement expressed profound grief and sorrow over the
execution of Motiur Rehman Nizami.
