Harassment of Mufti Nasir by Indian forces in IOK denounced

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Millat (MIM),
Jammu and Kashmir, in occupied Kashmir, has denounced the
atrocious attitude of Indian Army personnel from Kangan area
against Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam.
According to Kashmir Media Service, MIM Secretary General,
Advocate Zahid Ali, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The
harassment campaign by the army personnel from Kangan area against
Mufti Nasir is a deliberate attempt to stop him from divulging the
truth about the human rights situation in Kashmir particularly the
Valley where human rights are violated blatantly and the common
masses are terrorized for seeking right to self-determination.”
He said religious rights are even denied by the forces and
the people are not allowed to offer congregational prayers. “Mufti
Nasir for raising voice against the sponsored intimidation has
himself become a target. He has received threatening messages from
the forces and his house wall at Kangan has been damaged to create
a sense of fear and thereby deter him from supporting the public
cause,” he said.
Meanwhile, APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, in a statement in
Srinagar expressed grave concern over the harassment of Mufti
Nasir by Indian forces for raising voice against the Indian
atrocities.
He also paid tributes to the martyrs of Gaw Kadal massacre
on their anniversary. He said Kashmiris have seen several gruesome
massacres by the Indian forces but Gaw Kadal massacre was the
worst one as uniformed men mercilessly opened fire on unarmed
civilians and over 50 people were ruthlessly killed and hundreds
critically wounded.
