Imran Khan’s demand for early polls will deprive KP of its due shares: Bilour

PESHAWAR (MILLAT ONLINE):Veteran politician and ANP leader Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour MNA has said that demand for early polls by Imran Khan amounted to depriving the KP of its due share in the national resources which are likely to rise provided the elections were held on time under the new population census.
The KP would be deprived of its share if the general elections were held before time on the old population census, he argued while addressing a press conference here at Bilour House on Thursday.
According to the new population census, the KP would get five more seats of the national assembly resultantly its share in the federal divisible pool would enhance to a considerable level, he explained.
All political parties agreed on holding elections on new population and opposed to early balloting, he said adding elections must be held on time. He further told that some parties also wanted to delay the polls on one pretext or the other in order to pave the way for technocrat or national government, which he said would prove detrimental for the country.
It is a matter of regret that Imran Khan whose party ruling the province was also involved in conspiracy to deprive the KP of its due share by making demand for early polls on old census.
The ANP has always been fighting for the rights of the province and would continue to do so in future as well. The ANP was clear on holding in time elections on new population census.
He said that the ANP has all regard and respect for the Supreme Court’s verdict in Nawaz Sharif case adding it is also painful to note that the former premier has been deprived of his fundamental rights. He said the ANP is against politics of confrontation with the state institutions.
He also castigated recent statement of Asif Ali Zardari opposing Nawaz Sharif’s protest over injustices meted out to him and said that the former premier has the rights to protest. The PPP Co-Chairman should avoid giving statements that did not suit him, he added. The advisors are giving wrong advices to the former President, he added.
Mr.Bilour said the ANP had been targeted during Martial law regimes in the past but never tendered any apology. Imran Khan tendered apology to the Election Commission over a petty matter in order to avoid jail sentence of two to three weeks, he maintained.
About Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance on making Fata separate province, Central Vice President of ANP said that it would open up new Pandora box as the similar demands would arise from Baluchistan and Sindh provinces. Making new provinces was not a joke. Fata should be merged into the KP as it would ensure ending sense of deprivation of the tribesmen.
To a question, the ANP leader said that there is no ‘Minue One’ formula in politics as leaders are seldom created. Making Nawaz Sharif minus meant to ending the PMLN forever which is neither possible nor it should be done. What would be the PPP minus Zulifikar Ali Bhutto and what would be PTI minus Imran Khan, he explained.
