India making Kashmir institutions redundant: Mirwaiz

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Chairman of his own Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq has said that New Delhi is making institutions of the territory
redundant.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was reacting to the Indian Supreme Court ruling,
which held that Indian states including occupied Kashmir cannot conduct their own entrance examination for medical courses, KMS reported.
“India is trying to make our institutions redundant,” he told media
persons after chairing Executive Council meeting of his forum in Srinagar.
“New Delhi wants to control all the institutions of the territory,” he said.
He said that the entrance examination under the Indian institution
National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) was “not only injustice to local students but also a ploy to weaken the Kashmir’s control over its educational institutions, thus affecting the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir to run their professional institutions.”
He termed NEET as a serious issue because the territory is being
weakened continuously under a well-planned strategy with a nefarious design.
“Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally-accepted dispute and rendering
its institutions powerless and handing their control over to India is being
deliberately done to affect Kashmir’s disputed nature,” the Mirwaiz said.
He also termed the statements of local authorities on the plan of
setting up colonies for retired Indian soldier as misleading. “This is a very serious issue having far-reaching consequences,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Front Chairman and APHC leader,
Nayeem Ahmad Khan addressing a party meeting in Srinagar said that every
Indian institution including Supreme Court had always been showed biasness
towards Kashmiri people.
