Indian govt urged to stop human rights violation in IHK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Deputy Convener Jammu and Kashmir
National Front and human rights activist Altaf Hussain Wani on
Friday said that India should respect the rights of people living
in Indian held Kashmir (IHK) and stop massive human rights
violation.
Taking part in the debate on elimination of poverty at 32
meeting of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) at
Geneva, he said that people of IHK were living a miserable life as
they were unable to enjoy their basic rights, says a fax message
received here from Geneva.
He said that Indian government has failed to fulfil its
responsibilities on the resolution of United Nations.
He said the Indian government was also violating the resolution of the
United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP) and constructing
illegal housing colonies for retired Indian army personnel and India
civilians in IHK.
He said that UN resolution on Kashmiris’ right of self-
determination was also being violated as India showed utter
disregard to the UNSC resolutions and continued to commit murder,
rape and committing atrocities on the people of Kashmir.
Eight Kashmiri leaders were attending the 32-session of
United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) to inform the
international community about Indian brutality in IHK and violating
rights of Kashmiris living in IHK.
