Indian High Commissioner summoned to lodge protest at ceasefire violation

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): The Indian Deputy High Commissioner Tuesday was summoned by the Director General South Asia and SAARC and strong protest was lodged over the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 23-24. “It was conveyed to the Indian side that it should investigate the incident and share the findings with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary,” a statement said by Foreign Ministry’s spokesman. The firing by the Indian occupation forces at the Working Boundary in Phuklian and Chaprar Sectors resulted in martyrdom of two civilians including one-and-a-half-year old baby girl. Six civilians were also injured as a result of the shelling by Indian side.
