Indian police disallow JRL seminar on HR violations in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Indian police disallowed a seminar being organized by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) at the Hyderpora residence of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, in Srinagar on Saturday.
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, had announced to hold the seminar titled ”Human Rights Violations in Kashmir and Criminal Silence of World Community” in connection with the World Human Rights Day to be observed tomorrow (Sunday). Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other prominent personalities were scheduled to speak in the seminar, KMS reported.
The Indian police and paramilitary personnel deployed outside the residence of Syed Ali Gilani disallowed the participants to enter the seminar venue. While Syed Ali Gilani is already under house detention, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was also placed under house arrest at his residence in Nigeen on Thursday. Muhammad Yasin Malik has gone into hiding to evade arrest ahead of proposed march announced by the JRL towards the UN office in Sonawar on Sunday, the World Human Rights Day.
The police since early morning did not allow anyone to enter the Hyderpora residence of the APHC Chairman. The puppet authorities even sealed Airport Road by deploying huge contingents of the Indian police and troops that stopped participants of the seminar from entering the venue.
Those stopped included Hurriyat activists, journalists and civil society members. The domestic workers of Syed Ali Gilani were also not allowed to enter the house.
