Intl conference at LCWU continues

LAHORE, (MILLAT/APP): A three-day international
conference on “Commemoration of Firdowsi Toosi” organised by
Lahore College for Women University, Lahore Persian department
(Firdowsi Chair) in collaboration with Cultural Centre of
Islamic Republic of Iran, Lahore continued on Tuesday.

Chancellor LCWU Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar, Counsel General
Iran, Lahore Bani Asadi,Director walled City Authority
Kamran Lashari spoke on the occasion while heads of various
departments and professors of several universities attended
the function.
Addressing the event, the speakers said that Pakistan and
Iran can collaborate in numerous academic areas like
technology, literature, art and research. Both countries have
common literary and cultural heritage as Sheikh Saadi and
Allama Muhammad Iqbal are equally popular in both countries.
They highlighted the importance of Iran-Pakistan
relations and Persian language.
They pointed out the basis of Iran-Pakistan relations and
appreciated the cooperation and efforts of Iran regarding
Pakistan’s integrity and development.
They also highlighted the depth and strength of Iran,
Pakistan and Tajikstan’s cultural, historical, religious
relations and declared Firdowsi as an asset and his “Shahnama”
as a symbol of common historical heritage.
