IOK Bar Association holds anti-India protests in Srinagar

ISLAMABAD,(MILLAT+APP): The High Court Bar Association
(KHCBA) has staged peaceful demonstrations at Sadder and High Court
complexes in Srinagar to impress upon the world community to mount
pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the Bar Association
members amid pro-freedom slogans demanded India and Pakistan to
engage in result-oriented dialogue on Kashmir dispute.
Talking to media, Bar Association General Secretary,
Advocate Bashir Siddiq said that Kashmir dispute, pending since
past seventy years, had consumed thousands of lives but the world
community despite being aware of the history was maintaining
silence.
“We staged this protest on the call of resistance leadership
to convey to the world community that Kashmir issue needed an
urgent attention as India had surpassed all the brazen limits of
rights violation in disputed region,” added Siddiq.
He further said that Kashmir issue demands urgent political
solution for which the two neighboring countries India and
Pakistan must sit together and find a lasting solution to this
issue.
He said that Kashmir issue had always been bone of
contention between India and Pakistan. “If this issue keeps
lingering on, it will provide a room for major nuclear war which
will be fruitful neither for India nor Pakistan,” he said.
He appealed to the United Nation’s Human Rights Council,
Amnesty International and other human rights organizations of the
world besides Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to
discharge their obligation towards the people of Kashmir to get
the killing, blinding, maiming and torturing of Kashmiri people
stopped forthwith.
