IoK court extends Masarrat Aalam’s remand till April 27

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): A Baramulla Court in occupied
Kashmir has extended the judicial remand of illegally detained
senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim
League (JKML), Masarrat Aalam Butt, till April 27.
The JKML legal secretary, Shah Riyaz, told mediamen in
Srinagar that Masarrat Aalam Butt was produced before a court in
Baramulla which extended his judicial remand till 27th of this
month, KMS reported.
He said that the detained leader was booked in a false case
registered against him in 2016.
Shah Riyaz said that the JKML Chief was being subjected to
political vengeance for his political beliefs and ideology.
It is to mention here that Masarrat Aalam Butt is behind the
bars since October 2010 after he spearheaded mass uprising that
year. During this period, he remained outside the jail for about
forty days in 2015.
The JKML Chairman has been lodged in district jail Baramulla
ever since his detention under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA)
was quashed by the High Court of the occupied territory last year.
