IoK HCBA condemns detention of resistance leaders

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): The High Court Bar Association
(HCBA) in Indian occupied Kashmir, has strongly condemned the
arrest and detention of senior resistance leaders including Syed
Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the HCBA in a statement
issued in Srinagar appealed to the international community to take
notice of the situation in occupied Kashmir and impress upon India
to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination
without further bloodshed, arrest, detention and ruthless beating
of people at the hands of Indian forces.
It also denounced the brutal attack on journalists, who had
gone to Hyderpora to cover a press conference by joint resistance
leadership.
It said that media had always played an important role in
highlighting the sufferings of the Kashmiri people and during the
last 27 years, the media persons had performed their professional
duties well, sometimes even at the cost of their lives.
The HCBA also urged the world community to pressurize India
to stop use of force against the media persons in occupied Kashmir
and come forward for their support.
