IOK regime interfering into religious matters: Hurriyat forum

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):The Hurriyat forum in Indian Occpied Kashmir led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly denounced the puppet authorities for caging the Mirwaiz and barring him from addressing a gathering in Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the puppet authorities placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest and prevented him from addressing the faithful at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar on the occasion of annual Urs of the saint popularly known as Dastgeer Sahib on Thursday.
The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar castigated the puppet administration for stopping the Mirwaiz from performing his religious obligations. He said that the puppet regime was directly interfering into the religious matters and hurting the religious sentiments of the people of occupied Kashmir. He said that the Mirwaiz was recently released from the ten-day long house detention and just after one day of freedom was once again caged in his own house, which was condemnable act on the part of the authorities.
The spokesman said that for many years Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had been addressing the gathering of faithful at the shrine of Dastgeer Sahib (RA) at Khanyar and shedding light on the life and teachings of this great Sufi saint and now it seemed that even delivering a religious sermon had become a threat for the authorities. He said that thousands of people who were waiting to listen to the traditional sermon of the Mirwaiz at the revered shrine were left disappointed and registered their strong protest against the authorities’ decision terming it as an ultimate authoritarian approach and the puppet regime’s attempt to play with the religious sentiments of the people.
The spokesman termed the authorities’ decision of frequently caging the Mirwaiz in his house as political vendetta and warned that if the policy of repression continued, the people will resist it.
Meanwhile, addressing the devotees at the shrine, Sajada Nisheen, Khalid Masood Jeelani, also denounced the authorities’ decision of baring Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from addressing the gathering and termed it as a direct interference into the religious affairs.
Hundreds of faithful had staged a protest outside the shrine against the puppet regime’s autocratic act of stopping the Mirwaiz from reaching the shrine and addressing the religious gathering.
