Islamabad police demand special allocation

ISLAMABAD (APP): Islamabad police have sought special
allocation for police stations in the upcoming budget to fulfill
their needs towards effective policing.
The demand about resources has been forwarded to Ministry of
Interior which would formally ask to the Ministry of Finance for
allocation, the official source said.
He said that a new police station – Faizabad police station –
has been also proposed which would increase number of police
stations from 22 to 23.
The Ministry of Interior has given the approval to the
district administration of Islamabad for a new police station with
the purpose to combat crime effectively and resolve public
complaints on immediate basis.
According to the official source, the new stations will be set
up at Faizabad while three other police stations Shamas Colony, Noon
and Karachi Company have been recently established.
He said that Ministry of Interior will also enhance the budget
for the Islamabad police in the upcoming budget for maximum
resources to existing as well as newly established police stations.
The jurisdiction of existing Margallah police station has been
divided after establishing Karachi Company police station. It is
covering sectors E-9, F-9 and G-9.
The Shams Colony police station has the jurisdiction of H-11,
H-12, I-12 and H-13 which is sharing the burden of Sabzi Mandi
police station.
The newly proposed Faizabad police station will cover H-8 and
I-8 sectors which come in the limits of Industrial Area police
station. Interior Ministry source said that private building may be
hired for other new Faizabad police station.
In the upcoming budget, special allocation is requested for
existing and newly established police stations, he added.
