JKLF condemns continued detention of Yasin Malik

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has
strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of its Chairman, Muhammad
Yasin Malik, and house arrest of Vice Chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi by the Indian occupational authorities.
The JKLF spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that these
undemocratic, unethical and inhuman acts could not deter the Kashmiris from
pursuing their cause of freedom, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.
He paid rich tributes to Aasiya and Neelofar of Shopian who were
brutally raped and murdered by Indian men in uniform in 2009. He deplored that after the passage of eight long years the killers of the victims were still at large and despite many tall claims, the puppet rulers had not arrested anyone.
Meanwhile, the High Court of occupied Kashmir has asked the authorities
to inform it under which law Muhammad Yasin Malik has been arrested. The order was issued by a single bench of Justice R Sudhakar after Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar treated Malik’s postal letter as a habeas corpus petition and directed its listing before a senior judge of the court.
Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested last Wednesday and kept at Kothi Bagh
police station until Sunday when he was shifted to central jail Srinagar.
