RAWALPINDI, (APP): Pakistan Handicraft Association (HAP)
delegation led by President HAP M. Khurshid Barlas met Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo on Wednesday and discussed matters pertaining to business.
The delegation comprised Fyaaz Qureshi Executive Member, Kashif Zaheer
Chairman, Foreign Affairs Committee, HAP and Fahad Barlas Member, Exhibition Committee They also reviewed the matter of organizing International Handicrafts show in Islamabad this year.
Pontecorvo assured Italian Government’s assistance in promoting
Pakistani Handicrafts, gems & jewelry by creating linkages among the sectors of both the countries. Barlas pointed out that training at workshops in Italian institutions for artisans and gemstone workers would help in value addition of our handicrafts.
The Ambassador assured maximum cooperation for capacity building of
Pakistani Artisans.
Organizing of Handicrafts Exhibitions in Pakistan and Italy also came
under discussion which would attract people of both countries.
The envoy said a high level delegations from Italy will visit
Pakistan in April and May and the Italian Prime Minister is also expected to visit Pakistan by the end of this year.
