Killing of woman continues to draw flak in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations continued to condemn the killing of a woman, Misra Begum, by the Indian troops in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Indian forces are resorting to disproportionate and unjustified force against peaceful civilians, which is highly condemnable. He extended his condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, KMS reported.
The APHC Chairman denounced the Indian forces for unleashing terror and said that continued bloodshed was the outcome of forced occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India. “Innocent killing is sheer state terrorism,” he said.
He said killers roam free without any accountability, adding that these forces had turned the territory into a slaughter house.
On the instructions of Syed Ali Gilani, a Hurriyat delegation led by Bashir Ahmed Qureshi, Saif-uu-Din Mir and Abdul Ahad visited Handwara and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family of the victim woman.
Meanwhile, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in her statement said that the Kashmiri women had immensely contributed and sacrificed during the ongoing freedom movement.
She said, “The role of women in this anti-India movement has been equal to that of the men. Not only have the women lost their fathers, brothers, sons or husbands but have also laid their lives for this cause.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference leader, Muhammad Sultan Magray, at a party meeting in Srinagar while condemning the killing of Misra Begum expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
APHC leaders, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, in a joint statement paid tributes to the martyred woman.
The High Court Bar Association (HCBA) in its statement demanded a high-level judicial probe into the killing of Misra Begum.
The Indian troops had killed Misra Begum during a violent cordon and search operation in Handwara on Monday. The victim was mother of a two-month old baby.
