ISLAMABAD, (APP): Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran
Khan has said that Khyber Pakhtonkhwa government would introduce a bill in
the KP Assembly to strengthen the process of independent accountability.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that a committee looking into the matter had been directed to expedite the process of drafting the amendment bill to present before the assembly.
He said the KP government had appointed all office bearers of Ehtesab
Commission on merit by recruiting from DG to members of the commission through advertisement of the posts and making the act of the commission more
strong.
He said the Local Bodies system was more stronger and organized in KP
where Rs 44 billion had been transferred to the district councils.
Besides Rs 13.5 billion had been provided to tehsils councils, he added.
He mentioned that only Rs 2.75 billion were given to the local government in KP during the government of Pervaiz Musharraf.
The institutions in Punjab and Sindh were powerless as the provincial governments actually hold the power, Imran claimed.
Political interference had been stopped and all recruitments were made
through National Testing Service (NTS) ensuring the merit in KP, he added.
To a question, he said for controlling the global warming, we were planting one billion saplings in KP as 120 million planted so far.
He said the project was being audited by the international forum WWF.
The WWF had recorded 85 percent success rate in the project against 50 percent rate reported worldwide.
He informed that KP government had brought reforms in government
hospitals while facing tough reaction from a mafia as a result of which
doctors were now coming from foreign countries to serve at Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.
Replying to another question, Imran said that Pakistan was enjoying good relations with Saudi Arabia and Iran and also playing key role in defusing tension between two muslim countries.
