Lahore Qalandars thrash Karachi Kings by 7 runs

SHARJAH, (MILLAT/APP): A half century by Fakhar Zaman and disciplined bowling by Lahore Qalandar’s bowlers helped them defeat Karachi Kings by seven runs in the eighth match of Pakistan Super League at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday night.
Karachi Kings chose to field after winning the toss. Lahore Qalandars put a huge total of 179 runs on board for the Kings with Fakhar Zaman hammering a superb fifty. Fakhar, who came for batting on one-down position after the departure of McCullum made brisk 56 off 36 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes. Other main contributors for Qalandars were Joy, Umar Akmal and Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 26, 25 and 29 respectively.
The Kings failed to chase the target despite skipper Sangakkara’s brilliant knock of 65 runs. Openers Babar Azam and Chris Gayle fell cheaply on 9 and 5 respectively.
Sangakarra and Shoaib Malik joined hands and gave their side a hope of winning the match providing a 101-run third-wicket stand. But after their departure Karachi Kings wickets fell at regular interval and they could score 172 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
