Met Office predicts rainfall, snow in upper areas of country

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday has forecast additional rain in upper areas of the country and snowfall on the mountains.
According to private news channel , weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions, FATA and Kashmir.Climate in Lahore is expected to stay dry and cold in the next 24 hours.
Rainfall occurred two days back in the metropolis has increased the chill. Fog also continues to reign Lahore due to which motorway police has directed the citizens to avoid unnecessary traveling.The temperature of the city can go upto 19°C whereas the minimum will likely be 5°C.
On the other hand, weather conditions in Karachi are also cold. The minimum temperature is expected to range between 9 and 11°C while the maximum will be from 26 and 28°C.
Meanwhile, the temperature has dropped below the freezing point in Kalat, Quetta, Dilbandin and other cities of the province. The weather will remain dry in the next 25 hours.A westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and may persist during next 24 to 36 hours.
In next 24 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However more rain-thunderstorm is expected at a few places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Very cold weather conditions are likely to prevail in northern parts of the country including Quetta. Foggy conditions are possible over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
