Metro Bus Service resumes in twin-cities after four days

ISLAMABAD, March 31 (APP): The Metro Bus Service Thursday resumed
between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi after remaining
suspended for four days due to the protest sit-in at D-Chowk.
Due to the suspension of Metro Bus Service, more than 100,000 commuters were affected each day, PMA sources said adding that repair work had been started at the stations damaged by the protesters.
The authorities concerned estimated loss in millions of rupees of damaged various metro stations.
It is pertinent to mention here that token vending machine, passenger information screens and CCTV cameras were damaged at various stations.
The sources said that same company which had supplied the machinery would repair it, which may take one month.
The overall damage estimation, he said, would be assessed by a committee which would include representatives from Nespak, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Metro Bus Authority officials.
The source said that bus service would skip the damaged stations till the completion of repair work.
