Mirwaiz terms continued killing as naked barbarism in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq has termed the continued killing of innocent civilians
by Indian forces as the worst kind of naked barbarism and state
terrorism.
According to KMS, Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar
criticized the silence of the United Nations over the killings in
the occupied territory. “If the UN cannot stop the killing of the
oppressed and weak by the powerful and influential oppressor it
should close shop or announce that it is an organization of the
powerful and influential and for the powerful and influential and
those that do not fall is this league cease to exist for them.”
He also spoke over phone to the father and other family
members of martyred youth, Riyaz Ahmad Shah, who was killed after
being hit by pellets fired from point-blank range by the personnel
of Indian forces in Srinagar, the other day, and expressed
solidarity with the family.
The Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to Riyaz Ahmad Shah and said,
“Martyrs live forever in the collective conscience of their
nation, and it is from them that a nation struggling for freedom
and justice derives its inspiration and strength.”
“Today, even those in India who call themselves the
champions of human rights or the civil society are maintaining a
criminal silence over killing of innocent people in Kashmir,” he
deplored.
He said that peaceful public protests were continuing in
every nook and corer of the Kashmir Valley. “The entire world is
witness to the fact that the people of Kashmir themselves are
carrying forward their resistance movement and when people stand
up for their basic right, the right to self-determination, nobody
on the earth has the power to stop them,” he maintained.
The Mirwaiz warned that the spark neglected in the Kashmir
dispute could turn into a dangerous ammunition dump for entire
South Asia.
