Multan Mayor terms Punjab budget people-friendly

MULTAN, June 2 (APP): Mayor of Municipal Corporation Multan
Naveed-ul-Haq Arain said on friday that the Punjab government presented
a people-friendly budget.
Talking to APP, Naveed Arain said that provincial government had
earmarked handsome amount for the health and education sectors. He said establishment of Danish schools, new colleges and universities in Punjab would definitely help improve literacy rate as well as quality of education.
He said that a sum of Rs 635 billion had been allocated for uplift
projects across the province, including Rs 213 billion for South Punjab in the next fiscal year.
The mayor welcomed the upgradation of primary school teachers scales
which would help improve standard of education. He mentioned that the provincial government had set aside Rs 198 billion for maintaining law & order which would overall improve the security situation.
He also appreciated allocation of Rs 140 billion for peasants that would
help better rural life.
Allocation of Rs 6 billion for outsourcing of waste management companies
by provincial government in the budget would surely prove helpful in improving the cleanliness condition, he maintained.
