NDMA endeavoring to build the capacity of govt officials

ISLAMABAD, (APP): National Disaster Management
Authority (NDMA) is making an endeavor to build the capacity of
government officials for which a new concept has been evolved.
The concept envisages the capacity building of government
officials through emergencies response exercise (GOERE). The aim of
these situational based training was to enhance their
preparedness and response capacity, coordination mechanism for
smooth execution of response and media handling, said a NDMA
statement.
In order to educate the government officials and members
of humanitarian partners of Peshawar Divisions and few other
vulnerable districts of KP Province, NIDM is conducting the first
training planned from March 7-11, 2016 at Peshawar Services
Club, in collaboration with Provincial disaster Management Authority
KP and World Food Programme (WFP).
Governments Officers Capacity Building Training/Exercise
for Effective Response Management,Islamabad Pakistan has been hit by
a number of natural disasters since its independence.
The concept will be implemented in all the provinces through
series
of training by the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM)
on behalf of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
A total of 33 individuals including government officials,
humanitarian partners and other stakeholders responsible for
disaster response, from District Peshawar, Nowshehra, Charsadda and
Dera Ismail Khan are participating in the exercise.
