Pak Railways to upgrade Karachi station

ISLAMABAD,(MILLAT ONLINE):The Ministry of Railways will be upgrading and rehabilitating Karachi Cantonment Railway Station at the cost of Rs 90 million.
The decision has been taken on the direction of Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique under reconstruction projects of railway stations, an official in the Ministry of Railways told APP.
He said in this regard, companies have been asked to submit their offers to the authorities till January 25 while a pre-proposal will also held on January 20.
It is pertinent to mention that Railways has been working on the upgradation and beautification of several railway stations in Balochistan and Sindh provinces to provide more facilities to the passengers, he said.
The official said that renovation railway stations across the country are underway and initially 11 railway stations will be renovated.
The purpose to improve railway stations is to give a new concept of state of the art including buildings, passenger facilitation and modern business areas within station premises, he said.
